About the Course
Thinking Like a Scientist is a 6-session online series designed for students who want to explore science beyond the syllabus.
Through live sessions with researchers and practitioners, the series explores how scientists ask questions, examine evidence, approach research and navigate the world of science.
From scientific thinking and research literacy to citizen science, data skills and building your scientific journey, each session offers a new perspective on what it means to engage with science beyond the classroom.
Who is this for?
This series is designed primarily for students and early-career learners who are curious about science and want to explore beyond the syllabus.
Whether you’re interested in research, biology, ecology, conservation, or simply want to understand how science works, the series offers new perspectives, skills and ideas to take forward.
No prior experience is required — just curiosity and a willingness to explore.
What will you learn?
Through the six sessions, you will explore:
- How scientists ask questions, reason through problems and work with uncertainty.
- How to approach and critically engage with research papers.
- How students can contribute to science through citizen science.
- Foundational data skills and their role in scientific work.
- Different perspectives and approaches that shape scientific thinking.
- How to document your experiences and build a portfolio that reflects your journey.
More importantly, you’ll gain new ways of thinking about science — beyond memorising facts and finding the right answers.

Who can participate in this webinar series?
The webinar series is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students, educators, citizen scientists, nature enthusiasts, and anyone interested in biology, ecology, conservation, and related disciplines. Participants from across India are welcome.
Do I need a biology background to attend?
No. While some sessions may discuss scientific concepts, the programme is designed to be accessible to learners from diverse academic backgrounds who have an interest in nature and science.
How will the webinars be conducted?
All webinars will be conducted live. Registered participants will receive joining instructions and access details before each session.

Will I receive recordings of the sessions?
Lifetime access to webinar recordings is included with the ₹500 Advance (Complete Learning) Pass. Recording access is not included with the other plans unless specifically announced otherwise.
Will I receive a certificate?
Certificates are available for eligible participants. Specific eligibility requirements, such as attendance or successful completion of assessments where applicable, will be communicated before the programme begins.
