This has been my hobby for the past two decades. Thankful to have got an opportunity to undergo the neatly customised CITIZEN NATURALIST COURSE. It was a well planned program allowing me to deep dive into the nature, understand different aspects of it. Post learning, i am able to identify different bird species just by listening to their call/sound. Few of the topics What i liked the most. - The metamorphosis phase of a Butterfly or a Moth. Identifying differences between them. - Bio Mimicry… How Humans get ideas and inspirations from Other Species ( Kingfisher for example). - Wood Wide Web and aspects of Symbiotic relationship. As a working professional who's enthusiastic about urban wildlife and ecology, I was lucky enough to find the "citizen naturalist course" conducted by TNS. This well-designed, six-week course expanded my interests across various categories of wildlife that we often miss appreciating in our urban spaces. I've now been equipped with tools and resources that make my nature walks a much more wholesome experience. People at TNS have been a huge motivation for me to make an academic shift towards the field of ecology. I had an opportunity to be a part of Naturalist training with The Naturalist School organised by Indiahikes. It was a 3 month course where we leaned about different natural elements, birds, butterflies, animals, trees, etc. It gave a different prospective towards the nature. we leaned about the importance of each natural elements to keep our planet alive. We learned how to connect people with nature and how to become responsible citizens and take care of our planet. This program also focused on how to facilitate Nature Walk. This program started with a 5 day training with from The Naturalist School facilitators and then followed by on ground training for 3 months, followed by 2nd round of training by The Naturalist School and we had to go through an exam to qualify as a certified Naturalist. The Nature Guiding course really helped me connect with Nature and gave me some really valuable tools that I can use in every walk of life. What I loved the most is that Nature Guiding didn’t stop at that. Priya ma’am took the effort to understand the audience and deliver what is Required for the team. She really went out of her way to understand us. And based on that understanding she have us so much more than Nature Guiding. We also learnt some very important facilitation and Management techniques. I recently went through the naturalist training with The Naturalist school, the entire training was divided into two parts of 5 days of each. Firstly it made each one of us to fall in love with the nature. Gave us different lens to see the natural world around us along with the tools to learn and explore by ourselfs. The training left a huge impact on how we see nature, and the love to protect and also make people fall in love with the nature. The facilatators designed this program to make the most.
