Call for Interns – City Nature Challenge 2026

Deadline Extended to 10th December 2025
The Naturalist School is excited to announce that applications are now open for interns to join the City Nature Challenge (CNC) 2026 India Team!
What is the City Nature Challenge?
The City Nature Challenge (CNC) is a massive, collaborative global bioblitz, organized by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Academy of Sciences, where people across the world come together to document as much urban wildlife as possible over four days. Participants photograph and record plants, animals, fungi, and everything else they observe in their surroundings. It’s a friendly international competition where cities compete to see who can make the most observations, find the most species and engage the most people.
The data generated through this citizen-science effort is incredibly valuable. All observations contribute directly to global biodiversity platforms like iNaturalist, helping researchers track species distributions, monitor ecological changes, and inform conservation strategies. India’s growing success in the CNC reflects not only our extraordinary natural heritage but also the dedication, enthusiasm, and curiosity of our community.
To make this possible, we’re building a passionate, organised, and creative volunteer team—and we want you to be part of it.
🌿 Why Join the CNC 2026 Intern Team?
As a CNC intern, you will contribute directly to a global movement that connects people with nature, strengthens biodiversity data, and empowers local communities. You’ll gain hands-on experience in citizen science, event coordination, communication, and ecological outreach—while working with a diverse team of naturalists and educators across India.
This internship offers flexibility, skill-building, and the chance to be involved in the behind-the-scenes work of a global biodiversity challenge.
