India’s first Skill India certified guides came from the Nature guide training workshops that were conducted in three – Panna, Kathotiya & Samardha – Jungle Camps in Madhya Pradesh. The candidates were already working as nature guides and were awarded with Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) certificates after their completion of a 35 hr course that was held on the field and in class room styled learning.
The RPL training covered aspects of green practices, good communication, gender sensitivity, conducting a nature trail and an orientation into nature interpretation.
We collaborated with the Last Wilderness Foundation, who work in wildlife conservation along with these communities, who helped in identifying the beneficiaries for the program.
